This is Richard writing for Glenna. The doctor reported that the surgery on Wednesday went very well. She came home yesterday-Thursday. So now I am her "nurse" administrator. I keep track of things on her chart. When she takes her meds, has she taken time to walk about, breathe deep and cough to keep her lungs clear, and all that good stuff.
Glenna still has a sense of humor and we are just taking a day at a time.
The next major thing is the pathology report that will come in 7-10 days.

- I have always been a person to see each phase of my life as a new adventure.I have had a quirky habit of giving a name to each segment. I have reserved the name "Dawn" for the grown up me! I have been waiting decades until I had reached enough maturity to qualify as "Dawn". In January I was out flying. While thousands of feet off the ground, floating between clouds I decided to declare "Dawns Arising" as I flew over Mt. Hood.I wondered what lessons I would need to learn to fully grow into my new Identity. As soon as I had landed the lesson of my life began. I was told I needed to come in for a Biopsy on my left Breast, and March 12th 2009 I had breast cancer surgery. This was not the end but the first step in a long trip! I had a 3.8 cm lump removed and was told the cancer has spread to my lymph nodes. A mountain bigger than Mt Hood is before me! Cancer is a lonely walk and I decided I might as well invite my family and friends to travel with me and anyone else so inclined. I am hoping other Cancer Survivors further along in the journey will stop in and say Hi, and encourage one another. "Dawn"
